Surfers Paradise… a Nice Surprise
After 3 days in Byron Bay we head north to the Gold Coast, after pasing Miami Beach, and Palm Beach, we finally stopped at Surfers Paradise! I pictured Surfers Paradise to be more like Byron Bay, a small beach town. First of all Surfers Paradise is not a surfing beach hahaha, and it had high rises and modern architecture. the beach has a nice boardwalk with benches. It was probably one of the most expensive spots in Australia. It is actually “Orlando” of Australia, it has several parks like Wet ‘n Wild, Sea World, Movie World and more! We decided to skip the parks since we go to Orlando often.
We visited the Curumbin Wildlife for a Dinner show. We had a BBQ buffet dinner, then we had a night tour around the Zoo, where we were able to feed kangaroos, we even saw one with a joey (baby Kangaroo) it was so cool! At the end we saw the aboriginal show. We could not take pictures or film the performance. It was really nice and completely different from the Mauris in New Zeland. The dances were about nature and animals, the Maori dances were more about fighting.
The second day we visited a highschool friend, Yadira, she is doing the her master in the Gold Coast. Ryan went surfing with Yadira’s friend while we hang out.
Ryan and I went to the Hard Rock Cafe!!! another glass to the collection.
